I started baking at an early age. I made my first batch of peanut butter cookies at age 6. Also, I made my first edible cake after months of practicing at the age of 11 for a school bake sale when I was in the sixth grade. During my teen years I began to experiment with different recipes and came up with my signature strawberry cake. The strawberry cake is still enjoyed by many today. I enjoy baking and shared that same inspiration with my father, whom I learned much from in the world of baking. At the age of 21, I made my first sweet potato pie using my dad's recipe, Thanksgiving and Christmas is pie season, because that's when I make the most pies.
I come from a family of great cooks and bakers, I used to hang around the kitchen and watch my grandma bake various items. Also, I have an aunt and cousins who are excellent bakers as well.
I have always enjoyed baking and feeding my family and friends. Currently I'm working on some new items and some low fat and sugar free goodies for family and friends who have special diets and can't have sugar.
